Business Services
John Wagner
Director, Business Development
A Cisco Certified Sales Expert with 14 years of experience in the technology field, John joined 5NINES in February 2011. He uses his boundless energy to manage our sales team activities and partner relationships. When he’s not enjoying technology, he loves spending time with his beautiful wife and three great kids. He also enjoys time in the outdoors hunting, fishing and improving the wildlife habitat at their property in central Wisconsin. John’s passion for improving the wildlife habitat led him to found HabitatStewards.org, an information and resource center for outdoor enthusiasts who also wish to improve the wildlife habitat.
Larry Anderson
Business Development
Larry got his start in technology at NCR (when it was still known as National Cash Register) in late 1970 as a sales rep in Madison. Over the next 30 years, continued to climb the corporate ladder and make a few career changes. Needing a break from technology, in 1999 Larry took a two year sabbatical to follow a passion to build Prairie style homes, (in which he now lives). When the money ran out, he joined up with Norlight Telecommunications in late 2000. While at Norlight and collaborating with 5NINES as a customer, the opportunity to join 5NINES presented itself in 2006 in the position Director of Business Development. On the side, Larry is an avid forester and woodworker, processing his own wood, from the tree to the hand crafted furniture piece. Happily married for 41 years to the lovely Kathy, together they have four adult children and seven grandchildren.
Bill Dermody
Business Development
Bill came to 5NINES to deliver on the vision of Technology as a Service. That’s not as boring as it sounds. Bill is a business person who works in the technology field—not because technology is interesting, but because doing it right has such an effect on businesses. He has been delivering software and service solutions to companies large and small in the Midwest for 20 years, and has two valuable pieces of advice for executives: you don’t want to own technology, and you don’t want to manage it. When not preaching the gospel of technology as a utility, Bill gets the competitive aggressions out playing tennis and softball. For fun it’s the usual: beers on the Terrace, camping in the fabulous Wisconsin State parks, and Sundance Cinema.
Patrick Downey
Business Development
“Making the right investments in technology can mean the difference between success and failure for any business,” Patrick says. “Given what’s at stake, it’s vital to explore your options with a partner you trust.” Patrick joined 5NINES as a business development manager in the spring of 2011 with 20 years of account management experience and an MBA from Edgewood College. He’s held similar positions at TDS, CenturyLink and Rayovac. In his free time, Patrick enjoys biking the local trails, kayaking the local lakes and traveling with his family.
Robert Peebles
Business Development
Robert feels great empathy for the manager or business owner who’s recently had “technology” added to their job description. He also believes positive thinking brings positive outcomes. With these qualities and his experience in networking and VoIP, Robert helps 5NINES customers manage their technology so they can focus on running their business. Robert joined 5NINES in March of 2012 with several years of experience in business development and IT consulting. He’s currently growing his technical expertise by training to become a Cisco Certified Networking Associate (CCNA). When Robert isn’t focusing on technology, he’s exploring Wisconsin—canoeing, cycling, golfing, discovering new Madison restaurants—and traveling the world. He’s journeyed to 18 countries, most recently Panama and Costa Rica, and is looking for suggestions for his next big trip.
Patrick Beirne
Customer Service Manager
In this new position Pat will meld his technical skills with his deep understanding of our customer environments to ensure the delivery and support process is handled efficiently. For a numbers of years, Pat has been providing advanced level technical support to a variety of internal and external customers including critical troubleshooting/resolution of enterprise server, network and application problems in high-volume help desk environments. Pat’s career has straddled many domains and he has worn several different hats including definition and requirements gathering, procurement, technical support, development, and QA.
Erin Huebner
Accountant
Erin comes to 5NINES with several years of accounting experience. She fills a newly created Accounting Technician position and has quickly taken on billing, payroll and account management responsibilities. In her spare time she enjoys playing competitive volleyball, mowing the lawn, and cooking (foods that don't feel gross during preparation). She loves to travel and is hoping to visit Ireland and the Alps someday. Her two huskies and her obese cat are three of her best friends.
Jon Alvarez
Project Manager
Jon's career in IT grew from positions in both Operations and Sales, leading to a broad, business based perspective of technology’s role within a company. Not only does Jon provide technical consulting, he often lends a hand in project management. He has 6 years of experience supporting various databases including server operating systems, implementing Enterprise Reporting solutions, and working with end users on everything from general desktop support to process definition and revision. His broad knowledge of technical areas includes Oracle, SQL Server, Progress, Business Objects, Oracle Application Server (Forms, Reports, Discoverer, BI Publisher), Windows (All versions), Programming (PL/SQL), and various Internet & Multimedia technologies. When not working, you'll most likely find Jon cycling with the 5NINES racing team.
