Commercial power from MG&E has been restored to the 5NINES Data Center. All systems are operating on commercial power. We will continue to monitor our systems to ensure stability. Our generators and management plan will be on stand-by going forward if anything changes.
Due to the seriousness of the electrical outage, 5NINES expects there may be some disruptions to client sites in the downtown Madison area over the next few days. Internet services for some customers who are without power will remain down until power is restored or temporary power is provided. 5NINES is willing to work with property owners or managers to help with temporary power. Commercial power has been restored to the 5NINES Data Center. We will continue to monitor to ensure its stability. Our generators and management plan are still on stand-by if anything changes.
UPDATE 12:30PM – JUL 19
During the MG&E power outage we have been working diligently to ensure continuous operation of 5NINES services, including our Data Center and Internet Services. Data Center operations have been stabilized. Data Center services and HVAC are running on managed and monitored generated power.
We are monitoring diesel usage and currently estimate 23 hours of power generation capacity. Usage and capacity planning is being checked every hour on the hour. Refueling has been scheduled within 12 hours and will reoccur as necessary.
This situation will be monitored and managed over the weekend, as well into next week with resources on site for the duration of the outage. We are prepared to be without commercial power until Monday or beyond based on MG&E restoration efforts. We will continue to send updates through 5NINES.com Service Alerts.
